Operators logbook
eVision and Total are in the process of implementing the logbook system, ShiftVision, early 2009. ShiftVision, a generic logbook system, will be implemented for all Total operators and Total maintenance personnel onboard all offshore installations and will also be used by the Central Control Room in the ‘The Hague office’.
The logbook system is used to keep an electronic record of all activities during a shift. It streamlines communication and shift changeovers. The system also generates summarized day reports of all installations for higher management. The day reports are automatically structured according to company standards.
Container software
Currently eVision is implementing Container Vision Solution for Total E&P. The Container Vision software strengthens and streamlines the complete process of container handling and tracking, onshore and offshore, and the creation of boat manifests while ensuring on- and offshore safety. The eVision team is working alongside Total’s frontline operational personnel and logistics specialist, integrating with Total’s back-office systems ensuring efficient and correct handling of all goods.
Total’s container shipment solution is designed to maintain and improve safety while streamlining the complete logistics and handling of goods and containers. While often seen in the past as being add odds with each other safety is vastly improved while greatly reducing operating costs. Because of the large number of installations in operation the direct return on investment will be within 3 months while even more indirect cost savings will be made due to efficient, effective and on-time shipments and goods delivery.
Handheld container system
eVision is developing a handheld software system for checking all Total’s shipments. All required safety checks can be done on the handhelds devices as well as checking container materials and destinations. The container logistics system together with the handheld module ensure on-time delivery, no more misplaced shipments or late deliveries which, especially in the case of drilling rigs, result in extremely high costs. The handheld software system is part of the overall Container logistics software system; ContainerVision.
